Wow, that guy is flying, his feet are like a cartoonblur of orange circles. He’s holding a 6:15 pace for the last 4 miles of a ten mile tempo run, all below his lactate threshold of 165 bpm and an oxygen uptake at threshold of 44.1. It must be the shoes.

A guy I knew in high school (Hi, Dax) writes a pretty good running blog. Today he shared a solid gold running tip: Buy the brightest shoes you can find.

I can vouch for this one. I used to have a pair of bright red Nike’s, size 12. My wife called them clown shoes. But man, could I fly in those shoes. I think it’s time I upgraded from my current grey Nike’s to something…faster.
